W8FLH 443.6875 Repeater

Since 2018 or so, I’ve experimented with a digital voice repeater, providing DMR and P25 communications. This repeater has a lower profile, but services the general Greenville area with HT coverage. It consists of a pair of Motorola GM300 mobile radios, and a Combilent notch duplexer. The system is controlled by a Repeater Builder STM32-DVM interface paired with a Raspberry Pi 3 running WPSD. The antenna is a Comet CX-333 2m/220/440 MHz antenna at 50 feet above ground. It’s your typical tinkerer’s barnyard repeater. Ha!

The repeater uses the standard 5 MHz transmit offset (443.6875/448.6875), and DMR access is provided with Color Code 1. Just as is standard with most DMR repeaters, both Time Slots are available. Time Slot 2 should be reserved for TG310746, which is linked to 146.790.

Brandmeister talkgroups are available by simply programming your radio to use a group call with the correct talkgroup number (i.e. Ohio Statewide is TG3139).

The TGIF Network is also available on Time Slot 1. Simply start your talkgroup number with a 5, and enough 0’s to fill it out to 7 digits (i.e. TGIF TG31665 would be accessed as TG5031655).

A few Brandmeister talkgroups are connected full time on the repeater. If there is traffic on these groups, the repeater will transmit it. If you connect a dynamic talkgroup by keying on that group, it will connect and you’ll hear traffic. If no one on the local end of the connection transmits for 15 minutes, the group will be disconnected.

Static Talkgroups on 443.6875 DMR:

Timeslot 1:

TG3139 Ohio Statewide
TG31394 SW Ohio
TG31801 The Gathering Spot
TG310557 N8NQH/R – Dayton Area
TG311870 Miami County

Timeslot 2:

TG310746 Bridge to 146.790

APCO Project 25 (P25) is also available on the 443.6875 repeater, and uses a Network Access Code (NAC) of 293. Most local/semi-local traffic will be on TG1, but others are available via the web, also.

TG1 is linked to a P25 reflector that I have running, and also creates a connection to an RF link to 444.6875 (2A3) in Ft. Recovery, Ohio. There is also a link to Portland, Indiana. If you have a hotspot, this relflector is available as TG6875 on Pi-Star and WPSD.

Via the web, you can access TG10200 North America, TG9050 East Coast Reflector, and many others.
